News From Daughters of the American Revolution
I have been waiting since mid August for news from Daughters of the American Revolution. Years ago, I had a bit of assistance and found my Revolutionary ancestor, William Cody Richmond. When I met with a registrar from the DAR a few years back I was told that I needed many more documents to prove the line. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed.
Fast forward to February 2013 when I discussed my line with a different registrar for the DAR. I wrote about that experience The DAR Revisited. Not only was it a great experience talking with the DAR representative, but she went through all my information and told me I needed a few items (all from the recent generations). I was super stoked.
Well, here we are In November of 2013 and a few weeks back I heard from the registrar and was advised my papers have been verified by the DAR genealogist. YAY!!! Now, I wait for December for it to be approved by the National Board of Management.
In the meantime, I hope to attend a few meetings of the DAR chapter and get to know some of the ladies.
Congrats, Terri. Welcome to the fold:-)
Thanks Becky!
Congratulations ! I am also a DAR Registrar and I love to see applications get approved.
Thanks, Mary Anne! I am sure as Registrar it is just as exciting for you!
Congratulations. I didn’t realize how much time the process takes. Good to know for the future. Take care. Teresa
Thanks, Terri. I had no clue the process took this much time either. Definitely good to know for the future.
