I have spent a lot of time the past few years beating my family down, trying to find someone to take the Y-DNA test for me. I think I have finally  succeeded in this quest, I have a family member (who wished to remain nameless, so we will call him O’Connell male) who has agreed to take the test. Because I want the information, I am more than happy to pay for the test.

The good news is that O’Connell male picked a great time to agree to the test because Family Tree DNA is currently having a sale on their tests. Which, makes it a wee bit easier for this gal to purchase it. Seems like Christmas just might be coming a bit early for this gal!

  1. Hi Terri,

Saw your tweet and could not help see the O’Connell surname, I have set up a website called Irish Origenes that is designed to help you interpret the Y-DNA results and pinpoint an origin within Ireland . Its completely open access and there are Case Studies and a You Tube tutorial. Best of luck and drop me a line when your results come in as I do a free consultation (if all else fails!) Best of luck and expect the unexpected. Oh I was a guest speaker at Family Tree DNA’s November conference in November!

    1. Dr. Bowes, thanks for taking the time out to read and comment. I actually just started following Irish Origenes yesterday. Once I have the test results, I will definitely drop you a line. I am super anxious for these results. This is the line that I am so curious about!

    1. Always worth it just to see what it might tell. If it is something new, thats great. If not, its confirmation of the years of research you have completed.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment, Fiona. It is greatly appreciated.

  2. Oh, I wish I had seen this tweet earlier! I ordered a test kit for my dad last week and one for my husband today. My husband has a relatively recent immigrant line from Lithuania so I’m hoping to pin a few things down with this test.

Next time I order I’ll be sure to use your affiliate link!

    1. Kristen,

      Thanks!

I am glad to hear that you ordered a DNA test. Please come back and share what you learn from the results. I am so anxious to get mine, I know I have at least 1.5 months left of waiting.
