FindMyPast Free Weekend

According to the FindMyPast Facebook page, “From 7am EDT on Friday, September 18th to 7am EDT on Monday, September 21st, we’re opening billions of domestic and international records, as well as millions of newspaper pages for the world to view at no cost.”

How exciting. Everyone loves a little bit of free. Take the time this weekend and go through the databases on FindMyPast to see if you can find your ancestors.

Recently, I have spent time in the Petty Session records looking for court records of my Irish ancestors. At this point, I have not found any court records for them (that is a good thing, right?). But, I was able to assist a friend who knew she had some records that she needed to go through. Now, she will be able to spend the whole weekend looking for all of her ancestors.
