52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks: Bridget Curran
Bridget Curran remains a mystery, and will probably stay that way.
She was born about 1861 in the state of New York, according to the few census records she is in. She married John O’Connell before 1880. Together, Bridget and John had 6 children:
- Harriet
- Elizabeth
- Dennis
- John
- Daniel
- Kathrine
- Mary
The first child, Harriet was born in 1880. The last child, Mary was born in 1893.
Bridget died in 1895, two years after the birth Mary. She is buried at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, in Granville, New York. The church has no information on her death. According to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, it is very possible that Bridget had a sister by the name of Catherine. Catherine had a child that was baptized at the same church and Bridget was the sponsor. I have emailed with family members of Catherine’s and so far we have not been able to find a connection between the two families.
Though she remains a mystery. I will continue to look for clues to tell her story.
